The perfect breakfast in Paris: chocolate eclair, espresso, fruit pates at Jacques Genin. And chocolates to go.

Boulangerie Eric Kayser
The pastries at Boulangerie Kayser are my hands-down favorite. The chocolate-filled, sugar coated beignet didn't last long enough for a photo; the pan au chocolate had a rich dark chocolat and the right amount of flakiness.

La Torna, Santa Caterina Market
La Torna, a tapas bar in the Santa Caterina market, is a more intimate and possibly more local affair than the stalls in La Boqueria.
Lovely grilled tuna with vegetables.
Asparagus with a healthy amount of sea salt and romesco.
Seafood platter - each item perfectly cooked.
Rich tripe stew with beans and jamon.
Beans and blood sausage.
A surprise (and surprisingly good) chocolate cake with a gooey center and creamy sauce.

Pinotxo Bar, Boqueria Market
Pinotxo Bar (stall #466) in the Boqueria market has great food and a fun vibe.
Beef stew with chunks of meat, liver and peas.
Scrambled eggs with shrimp and veggies.
Unexpectedly good chickpeas - mixed with meat, of course.
Beans with clams - so simple and so delicious.
The octopus was absolutely incredible - simply grilled with olive oil, salt and paprika.
Patatas bravas.
Super soft and creamy flan.

Oriol Balaguer
The cakes at Oriol Balaguer in Barcelona are works of art - glossy, delicate toppings and layers of flavor inside.

Best Bites
Welcome to pork and chocolate! To me, food isn't simply a necessity but an experience for the senses and should always be delicious. I'm constantly searching for the best and most exciting experiences new york city has to offer and one of my passions is to share the great finds. To that end, I started putting together food tours based on my favorite tastes in downtown Manhattan for friends and family but am now expanding the tours to anyone interested in some of the best flavors the city has to offer. Each tour is small and customized for the most personalized experience, and last around 2-3 hours. Drop me an email or leave a comment if you're interested! Cheers & happy eating!
